
Emanuela Degli Esposti, born in Bologna, began her music studies at five years of age and became an accordion virtuoso. She soon began to study the harp under Alba Novella Schirinzi and received her Diploma with maximum marks from Bologna Conservatory. She perfected her art at the Rubin Academy of Tel Aviv under Judith Liber. She has played first harp in the Orchestras of Florence, Milan, Naples, Genua, Bari and Lugano performing with conductors such as Berio, Chailly,Delman, Inbal, Mehta, Muti, Oren, Prètre, and many others.
First prize winner at International Competitions in Stresa (1982- 1985), Palmi (1982-1984), and Milano (1985), she has performed in the premières of noted contemporary composers in Italy and abroad. Her recordings of particular note include a CD of contemporary composers for the Fonit Cetra Label(1988), Mozart's Concerto K299 for The California Art Foundation (2000), A solo and chamber with the “Nocturne Quartett” for the Tactus Label(2007), and three Cds for the famous Discantica Label : The Sonate Concertanti by Spohr in duo with N.Guidetti (1998), A solo Recital (2003), and Harp Duets with Davide Burani (2007), obtaining reviews in important musical magazines. As a soloist and chamber-music performer, she performs in concerts collaborating with various ensembles (Octandre, I virtuosi Italiani, I Solisti A.Scarlatti, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Ginevra Chamber Orchestra, Accademia Bach, Uberbrettl Ensemble, ecc..).
She has published a text on C.P.E.Bach and collaborates with the UT Orpheus as an editor of urtext editions for harp that have been included in the programs of international harp competitions such as the Israel Harp Contest. For the last ten years , she organizes and assists in a Master Class with Judith Liber at Villa Camozzi, on the Como Lake, and has been invited for seminars, lessons and master classes in Italy , Switzerland, UK and Germany. She is Professor of harp at the A.Boito Conservatoire in Parma, and served in the juries for the international harp competitions in Monaco (1999), Israel (1998-2003), "Marcel Tourner" (2009). Many of her students perform in leading orchestras and are successful teachers and soloists. On the 1st of December, 2007, she performed her transcription for harp of the Chaconne by J. S.
